Agreed, if changing the oil at 7k, no difference that is measureable would be noticed. Waste of money to use Edge Gold unless you were going to extremes. Average consumer doesn't go that far.

I'll have to double check, but with ~500miles on the clock and the MM reset, I'm showing exactly One (1) MPG better (on the DIC) with the fresh oil over the 6 month old 6K mile used Magnetec: A still pitiful 25.7 vs previous LTA of 24.7MPG. Ive never confirmed the DIC as I don't top off (afraid of flooding the vapour recovery canister/lines).



To many factors affect mpg to know if edge actually provided better mpg than magnetec. Unless you used a completely difference grade of oil. You would have to use the same gasoline batch, same exact throttle use etc to even be able to know a difference existed.

New Magnaetec may have 1 mpg better than used Magnetec. The slickifiers may get used up over time and the oil gets reticent after being loaded with blowby and varnish. Also the LTA was from January to July in New England - That cold winter could knock down the mileage. IDK how Nissan calcs the long term FE on the DIC.

Power maintenance with the GOLD is still too early to tell. Keeping rings clean is a top priority. A great oil formulation will do this. Verdict on the Ti is still out. Light to moderate throttle drivability seems improved. WOT power jury is still out. Oil is new and I usually have to mix in 3 gallons of Sunoco 93 to get the engine to make power.

Slickifiers? I am guessing you are referring to moly. Castrol Magnetec contains no moly, at least in the 5W30 flavor. It is assumed that they are using a type of ester as a "slickifier" that aids in clinging to metal helping to prevent dry starts and if that is the case it is not going to "wear out" that easily, or breakdown or whatever. If it has been able to take a beating of a ford ecoboost and still provide some the best used oil analysis after 7-10K miles, your rogue is not going to phase it.
