Mac Mail Question

My brother passed away last week and I'd like to transfer his emails from Mac Mail onto a USB flash drive in case this hard drive ever quits. I don't know if you guys ever use Apple computers, but if someone knows how I could do this, I'd be extremely grateful. The computer is a MacBook Pro and the operating system is 10.6.8. Thank you so much.

Select the mailbox(es) you want, go to the Mailbox drop down, select Export Mailbox, select your usb drive as the destination.

Here's a screen shot of the Mailbox drop down. I can't find the option that says Export Mailbox.

We must have different versions. Archive Mailbox should be what you want.
