So I'm from Massachusetts and going up to Maine on vacation and will be stopping at the Kittery Trading Post does anyone know can I buy ammo there with a MA ID?

Haven't bought ammo in ME but if they don't ask for a license and you don't act like you're from MA* then I don't see why it would matter. Worst case scenario: you try to buy, they ask for ID, and then they refuse to sell to you. Any other case you can buy.

[*How do you act like you're from MA? Dunno. Just don't say you're from MA, I guess.]

If you are coming up RT-125, stop at COSTA ARMS in Kingston.
I'm Not saying its GOOD, just saying its there.

Funny Ive lived 2 miles away for 27 years and only went in there ONCE looking for archery stuff for the Wife.

Why would someone in a state that doesn't require ID for an ammo purchase ask for an ID unless you're possibly a minor?

i have been occasionally asked for i.d. when buying ammo in various "free" states probably only to confirm age. i just show military i.d. or passport card and where i am from never comes up.

I was in a border town in PA once buying ammo. The clerk asked if I was from NJ, I stupidly said yes, and they asked for my FID. The person I was with said no (which was true), and was not asked to show proof. He completed the transaction.

I generally buy in DE due to no sales tax, and am never asked.
