I changed the oil early as the dealership had the truck to replace a leaking EGR cooler and also found misfires in a cylinder, as well as oil on the thread of that cylinder's spark plug. Have not determined source of oil on the plug, does not appear to be coming from topside (i.e. from leaking tube seals) and the plug had no more carbon than the other five. The truck does not smoke and the oil does not seem unusual; I would have hoped a bad ring would have shown iron in the mix. Filled back up with M1 ESP 5w30.

Funny that m1 esp starts over 12.0 and it thickened to 11.5o_O
Ugh they got AI doing the comments now or something?

So... this isn't a joke about cold starts (I see you're in AK) but do you have lots of short trips and idling in the cold? You've got fewer miles in 5 years than I do in 1, and that's just my truck (even though I'm on the road for nearly 50% of the year in rentals!). Based on my experience with my 3.5L Eco, the PCV system is super sloppy in winter months. In summer, I get maybe 1 ounce of catch can stuff per 5k miles, and there's zero water in it; just some light ends and some of the add pack. However, in winter, the catch can rate increases to about 1 ounce per thousand miles, and it's very watery and snotty. Either way, the point was, it's possible with low operating temps that the oil is migrating through the PCV system, and not getting hot enough or running long enough to burn it all off. I don't know how the 2.7 PCV is routed into the intake, so I can't comment if oil could go to just one cylinder, but I suppose it's possible. Do you have a borescope?
