Check your air filter and air duct. If their is any leaks dirt can get in. Dirt shows up as silicone. Seeing how the other wear metals were low the silcone may not be dirt related. The boron is not a wear metal it is an additive that belongs in the oil so do not worry about it. Your iron is a little eleavated if it was a Toyota but it is a relatively new Korean motor and is nothing to worry about just yet. I have not seen any UOA of this engine so this might be inline for that engine. How many times has this oil been changed in the last 10,000 miles? It is unlikely but it could still be some breakin wear we are seeing.

Looks like a good report for such a new vehicle. You should see the iron go down. And the silicon in a newer vehicle is usually something that is in the engine like sealants. Now since your irons are higher-it wouldn't hurt to look aroung the duct between the filter and manifold intake. Check to make sure your air filter is properly installed.
How do you like your Aveo? Is it manual or auto? Hatch or sedan? What kind of fuel mileage are getting?

My Aveo is automatic; gets around 34mpg; is a sedan.
Despite what so many folks seem to think, I find the Aveo very peppy and strong. No problem with keeping up with interstate traffic - nor with highspeed passing. I find it roomy and comfortable. It's neither a hotrod nor a caddy, but I never expected the Aveo to be anything other than what it is. And what it IS...is an economical means of getting from point A to point B with reasonable efficiency, comfort, and safety. (and not bad looking) IMO, an outstanding bang for the buck!
BTW....I went from 20 years of driving small pick-ups to this Aveo, and have not regrets.

Was the little guy " Aveo " in for a fuel rail replacement during this interval or any other service where they might have opened the airbox lid .... opened the oil filler cap or not pushed the dipstick in all the way ?
I'm glad your happy with the car . I'm laughing all the way to the bank with a Kia Cinco my Wife commutes in at 1/2 the price of some other point A-B cars . The engines are similar in design and I would think you could catch a tailwind , slow the interstate speed down and pop a 40mpg tank out if you wanted .... just to say you did
BTW , if your car gets alot of highway miles your well on the way to 300k of engine life if it never has a gross overheat but that Iron is approximate to 20k or so miles . IMO it could be and can be bettered which brings up those universal averages on the right ,

BTW , the airfilter might just need replacement depending if it saw road construction or dust storm where the motor lives .

Motorbike- I've gotten a 39mpg average a time or two when I kept the lead out of my foot. But I tend to drive hard.
I almost bought a Kia Cinco! Had there been a Kia Dealer in this rather small town I sure would have. But I didn't want to drive 100 miles for servicing, etc.

Why are people worrying about the silicon and iron numbers in such a new engine, considering the 6000 mile OCI?

MrFrost: My wife works for a car rental company at an international airport. She tells me she has come to love their cars like yours and the Kia from her driving them and from customer reports. When the customer needs only transportation, (not to make gaudy impressions) they like the fuel economy not obtainable in larger engines since they pay for their gasoline. Another factor is that these cars are reliable and are not the ones customers are being stranded with and having to be rescued somewhere with a replacement car. She has told me her next car is going to be one of these, based on the experience with these vehicles in the business.
Its nice to see a 1.6L DOHC Aveo results. Mine with with the 1.4L DOHC results can be found below.
