Fuel dilution? I'm curious, after your engine is warm, what does the temp gauge read? Mine reads a bit less than "3/8" no matter if it's winter or summer.

I'm wondering if these engines are set to run a bit too cold from the factory? That would only create, or at least, make any fuel dilution problems worse.

Incomplete information. No viscosity, Potassium, sodium, Nickle, and others. Also Blackstone gives values; not < for insolubles, fuel etc.

Nickle is important bc with the Chromium you can get more information.

Looks O.K. though except for the iron, chromium, and Nickle??? .

I'll have to see if I can get more information but what I put up there is all the guy posted at the Ridgeline forum.

As far as the temp gauge goes, my Ridgeline warms up rather fast but the gauge itself never goes above 3/8s either.

I believe if I was him, I'd just go to Havoline or Valvoline and run 4500 OCI's.

Would save a ton of money that way.

A fellow at the Ridgeline forum posted a UOA (Blackstone) on his 2006 truck (20,056 miles on the truck); the MobilOne sample had 6779 miles. What do you all think?

Silicon - 17
Aluminum - 5
Chromium - 4
Iron - 21
Lead - 1
Moly - 67
TBN - 2.5
Flashpoint - Fuel % - Antifreeze - 0
Water % - Isolubles % -
Blackstone recommended staying at 6500-7000 OCI for now.

I'm no expert, but this looks to me like classic symptoms of fuel dilution:

- Low flashpoint - should be 449
- Increased Iron - from cylinder wash
- fuel -
This is probably due to lots of short trips. Also, Honda's are known for fuel dilution.
