Yeah that first pic looks like it's blowing a bubble out of the side of it. It does appear a bit torn after a second look.

Haven’t bought a M1 filter in a while, and with C&P’s like this I’ll continue not buying them. Premium price for low quality.

Have the M1-110A on the FIT . Bought it after seeing good YouTube videos . This is 1 of them . Looks to have the same glue as the 102A that the O.P. posted .

Another fine quality Mobil 1 filter. The quality control is really lacking. The pleats are glued in this way.

I figured I'd cut open a couple of random M1 filters. When I opened this 102A the end cap wasn't even attached. SMH

This used 102A filter looks to be good . Video is 8 months old . Luck of the draw .

the M1’s are the ones to avoid at the moment. if you want to stay purolator based i would go with the ONE or BOSS.

Seems to me the best 2 options on the market are Champ made which includes Champ XL, Supertech, AC Delco, FRAM Endurance. Also seems that Premium Guard EX which includes Microguard Select are still probably the best on the market in terms of QC and build quality.

I personally do not want to use any M&H products at this point.

Well the more people report it to Mobil the quicker they will either demand M&H fix it or they will probably move suppliers, the problem is the vast majority of people don't even know what is going on.
