How about some details on the vehicle, like total miles, how long you've owned it, previous maintenance history, any known problems, additive used, driving style, etc, etc, etc.

Yes..it would be helpful to have additional information and addition the viscosity, TBN, fuel, water etc.

But in any event you may want to contact Terry Dyson who does professional oil analysis. Those of us on this site who have his services can't say enough good things about him.

Scary lead. If it were driving habits, wouldn't there likely be other wear elements elevated too? I know the bearings take the primary beating in abusive driving situations, but still... All else looks so normal. I'd guess that something's up with one of his bearings (maybe more).

Strongly concur with recommendatio to try Terry Dyson. Very helpful; you'll learn something and have some fun doing so.

For data entry, also try typing into a Word doc and using tabs to make columns. Then block and copy the whole thing inbetween CODE markers here.

I add mine to the other requests for more information.

However, if this engine is like many others, the high lead without high tin might point me towards rod bearing(s).

A quick review doesn't indicate any particular problem with Honda V-6 engines, so I'm assuming this car has some miles on it - the rod bearings usually fail before the main bearings.

Otherwise, I'd expect an incident in the recent past - loss of oil pressure, coolant and overheating, someone put leaded gasoline in it, a major engine repair was made - that might put this into perspective.

If no incident preceded this unusual reading, and you've got 100k or more on it, an assessment of the engine - borescope/fiberscope and compression/leakdown test among other things - ought to precede taking down the oil pan for an examination.

If the engine is worn, replacing the rod bearings or other major engine work may not be prudent.

Why not spend a few bucks and let Terry Dyson look into it?

I am having trouble believing the Si no matter what the miles and lack of information .

I'd call and ask for a re-run if it were my report

Then post about the engine noise you hear on start-up

Sorry about the late reply, I was at school all day.

It's a v6 accord with the C27 engine, 112k miles on it. My dad drives it and he doesn't drive the car hard at all. It's about 50/50 city/highway driving in California. We followed the maintanence schedule also.

Bought the car at about 35k miles used. We've been changing the oil every 3k until we switched to synthetic at 90k, been running at 7+/-k intervals since then.

My dad has put addictives in the engine before, I'm not so sure what they are however.

I'll change the oil at 3k (at 115k) and post results. If lead doesn't go down I'll have to see what I have to do. I'll just take his car to work. The car drives fine and the engine runs very smooth.

See if you can find out what additives were used. Somtimes they can skew the results.

Sounds like a good plan. I'd try to insure no additives are used to get a good baseline. If things don't improve, consider Terry's services.
