Could anyone please tell me if the Mobil 1 10w-40 High Mileage has any moly in it?

And how does it clean in comparison to other "known" cleaning oils like PP, PU?

Thanks all

Why not send a sample for a VOA and find out for us? If you searched and didnt find a result, I dont think youre going to get a definite answer.

Mobil 1 High Mileage 10w30 and 10w40 are on my "list" of oils to try

What were you using before?

Looks like people are having great success with the M 1 High Mileage oils.

However, I do know that the Valvoline MaxLife, High Mileage, Synthetic Blend, Red Jug in SM.... has lots of Moly in it.....as far as High Mileage oils go.

I'm not so sure about the new Max life, High Mileage, Red Jug in the SN though....the VOA or UOA look like they took OUT the Moly in the new, improved and up to date formulation.

What's the obsession with moly? It's not the only friction modifier out there that does the job.

I've been wondering the same thing. There's been a lot of talk about moly of late, despite the fact that so many oils without it perform just fine.

Probably because the Toyota and Honda 0W-20s are requiring large doses of it. If OEMs are on the moly band-wagon...

Most Mobil 1 oils contain a small amount of moly; nominally 100 ppm.
Small levels are for AW. The high levels of 800 ppm or so that you find in oils such as RL, Motul 300V and the Japanese OEM 0W-20's is to maximize the benefit by further reducing an oil's coefficient of friction to gain power and fuel economy.
