Lucas classic car oil

I know that in general Lucas products seem to be despised here on BITOG, but have just now found that they make an oil specifically targeted to the classic and hot hods. They say it has more zddp etc needed for these engines, and the price is attractive. Much cheaper than Classic Car Oil brand. An wondering if anyone has any experience with this oil, or more spec's on it than what is in their advertising??

Oil analysis I have seen on other Lucas oils were not very impressive for the price. I use rotella diesel oil in my old cars or you can look at Quaker State Defy as it has higher ZDDP levels for the older engines. Valvoline VR1 racing oil is good too but usually a little harder to find.

Its easy to make a low-tech oil that "looks good" for vintage engines. But I'd rather go a higher-tech route. HDEOs, QS Defy, RP's non-API series, etc. are all good bang for the buck, and I'd look there before Lucas. It may be fine, but IMO they've tarnished their reputation quite a bit in the past.
