When I bought my mini grease gun, it came with a lubrimatic multi purpose lithium grease cartridge. The grease was Amber in color, and worked fine in the simple applications I had for it. While at the same car part store I bought the gun at, they had a 3 pack of the same tan label lubrimatic grease in the little cartridges. I figured, the last stuff was OK, this should be OK too. and I bought the 3 pack. Today, I needed to reload the gun, as the original cart was empty. I took out the new one, and I was surprised that the grease in this cartridge was nearly BLACK in color... The labels look the same, the stuff in the cart is different... to some degree anyway. What gives?
I'm still planning to use it for car chassis, and other general auto lube... but it's weird that the color is different.
