LUBRICATION ENGINEERS “ALMASOL” SAE 90w gear oil

Good evening folks. Wondering what to do with remaining 2.5~ gallons of this new gear oil. Dad said he bought it from LE back in 2004.

I did send in a VOA on this oil. I’m betting his company ised it in CAT dozers and R MODEL MACK semis they used daily.

Being around that long, I would be concerned that moisture had compromised the product; very possible that some manner of contamination is present at the bottom. With only "2.5 gallons" left at the bottom, and given its age, I'd just drain it and recycle both the lube and the drum.


Also, I assume it's the same lube you mentioned in this thread ...
Given it's GL-4, that's just another reason it has limited appeal for use.

Well, the drum was in dad’s garage. It had the lid with the crimps Yku pull up all around on it and they were tight. So, remote possibility it could be ok. Probably just take it to work and dump in waste oil tank.
