I am also currently using in my Mazda3 and it has made a noticeable difference in shifting with the factory fluid. A friend put it in his thunderbird auto also and it has made his transmission shift much better. I would recommend it.

Used it for years. Amsoil for 20+ years in several vehicles, and I do add to Amsoil Transmission fluid (it's the ONLY additive I would consider adding to Amsoil fluid). Do a complete change every 60k miles or so. Miles are now 167k on 96 Crown Vic and runs and shifts like new.

Urban driving, Seattle area.

The red is an additive for all autos, other colours are for specific models.Never had a problem with Lubeguard so would recommend in most vehicles.

Just picked up a bottle of the green (Mercon V) for the Expy and put it in. Will see if it helps my weird little issue.

It is a good product. Most people add a bottle, but IIRC it says add 1 oz/qt of ATF. Some units might require more than a bottle. Having said that it resolved a minor issue I had with a slight delay going into Reverse when extremely cold outside.

In the distant past it allowed me to use a non- + fluid in a +3/+4 application. Lubeguard appears to be the real deal in fluid compatibility/conversions. Before the universal fluids, the trade used it pretty extensively. They may still use it a good bit. I would imagine that a universal fluid is used, if a road test or customer complaint shows an issue, the appropriate bottle can be added to make it go away.

I just changed the transmission fluid on a 2001 Honda CRV this past week and added a bottle of Lubegard Red. It has worked great in the transmission for a few years. The transmission holds around 7 quarts total but I checked and have been told that you can use the whole bottle(10oz). I did the 3 fluid changes and added the bottle during the last fill.

Last year, My 96 sunfire trans would not shift out of 2nd gear unless you WOT the engine. I changed the fluid to maxlife ATF with lubegard red. what's to lose right? I've been golden for the past year, my thread is on here somewhere.

I've been using it with Honda Z-1 in my 2001 Accord with the problematic BAXA unit. I've also added a Magnafine filter. I'm at 96K on the original transmission without any problems. I change the fluid approximately every 20K.

I am a firm believer in the benefits of using LG red however I'm not sold on the converter versions. I believe in using the proper fluid (and improving its heat dissapating qualities with LG red).

Lubegard is squeezed and refined from the petals of roses growing on Mount Olympus, and is the balm of every transmission guy's soul.

Use with confidence.

I have 2009 scion XD 4 spd auto. It uses toyota WS fluid. Which color of LG should I use? I was only going add a little in hopes of boosting atf life.
thanks.

Use LubeGard Red.

I plan on using some of this this weekend.

I bought a black bottle that listed Dodge ATF +4 compatiblility on the side. The red bottle said it was compatible with Mercon and Dextron, but I worried about ATF +4 compatibility so I got the bottle that listed it.

The vehicle that it is going in is a 1980 Dodge Van that has been chopped and legthened into an 20 passenger bus. I have done 2 drain and fills of ATF +4 in the past year and have dropped the pan (cleaned it all and replaced in pan filter), added an extra in line cooler and a magnefine filter.

The current fill has inexpensive ATF +4 and Auto RX in there.
I'm kind of thinking about doing another line drain this weekend and adding just the ATF+4, then adding the black bottle of LubeGard in a few months with the next line drain.

This ride has been used and abused and I just want to do it right. The owner says it has never driven better. Yet it still needs a bunch of work.

What do yall think?

I wouldn't use the black bottle. IIRC, that exists to "convert" cheaper fluid like Dex/Merc to more friction modified fluid like Toyota T-IV. Stick with Red bottle (or platinum, although that's also unnecessary).
