It is a cheaper alternative to the auto rx maintenance dose of 4 oz between intervals.

It probaly does not "clean" like auto rx, but it keeps the internals from buildup of insolubles and sludge.

10,000 mile/1 year intervals with no filter change works for me.

New site format looks great. Keep up the good work.

Many board member, including myself, have used it. It will help to extend the life of your oil and cut down on insoluables in your oil. You should check out the Used Oil Analysis (UOA) section of this board and do a search. You will find that it works.

I just ordered my first batch, but I have questions (I used the search, but didn't immediately find answers to the following questions - sorry if this is redundant).

Does Lube Control -

1 Thin the motor oil's viscosity grade? I think Rislone (naptha-ish?) says their's slightly thins the motor oil.

2 Replenish the motor oil's existing additives? or, add new ones? or, both?

3 Add friction modifiers? Will there be a possible increase in mpg?

4 Increase HP? through cleaning, or another method? like Rislone advertises.

5 And...what exactly is the difference between LC and Rislone (unlike most BITOG'ers, I am a happy user of Rislone through a number of years).

Thanks, in advance, jbas.

LC is approx. a 25 weight fluid, so no, not at the suggested treat rates.

2 Replenish the motor oil's existing additives? or, add new ones? or, both?

It does not replenish oil additives. It moderates oxidation and cleans engine internals.

3 Add friction modifiers? Will there be a possible increase in mpg?

It does not alter friction modification of the host oil.

4 Increase HP? through cleaning, or another method? like Rislone advertises.

A cleaner engine will produce more horsepower. It has better lubricity of any engine cleaner out there.

I would say LC has better lubricity and would never thin the oil. Also, each has a different set of solvents.

ARX and LC are two entirely different chemistries and have different cleaning regimes.

MolaKule - thanks.

To the others on this thread, and thinking about buying LC or FP, everyone associated with these products exhibits professional courteousness (well, at least until they begin debating their favorite oil brands on other threads!).

I have no favorite oil....I have no friends... I have no money........I am happy, or so the little voices tell me!

I just completed a 3,000 mile OCI using Lube Control and GC and had only a trace of insoluable in my LS1. That was amazing.

One thing that bothers me about the LC process, is the dosage. You add this every so many miles, but then it says plain on the site not to overfill crankcase. If you're full when you start and dont burn any, arent you overfilling? I'm planning to use LC but this has been bugging me since i read it.

I'm thinking of buying some of this but I have one concern. What are the lubricating properties of pure LC? Will it degrade the lubricity, even if slightly, of the oil it's being added to?
It's my understanding that most if not all of the additive package that's blended with the base stock of a motor oil does nothing for lubricity. Pure racing oils usually eliminate the detergent additives because they slightly reduce lubricity. Wouldn't LC be the same in this regard?
I hope I'm wrong about this. Please educate me.

Unfortunately, I have this issue only on one car, others consume some oil. On the one I add it only when I change the filter at the 6 month interval as I agree, unless you drain a few ounces you will be overfilling.

Feel free to give Odis a call at either:

He will answer your questions better than I could and he loves to talk to anyone about his products.
