LSJr- Do “Film Strength” Testers Tell The TRUTH?

Maybe, but it’s arguable that it’s closer to relevant for a race engine. A race engine doesn’t care about wear in terms of how we think of it. Nobody care about a couple PPM one way or another in the UOA. Rather, a race engine needs more EP additives and margin for when you push things too far into boundary lubrication. It’s failure/seizure vs function. IN that case, it’s arguable that an EP kind of test like the 4 ball or even the Timken bearing test from the LSJr might have some relevance.
Good point. Amsoil probably is thinking along those lines.

So what is the real life results ?

YouTube have plenty of that type of tests, and just they measure the wear.

It doesn't matter on cars ?

Matter only on motorcycles that gearbox also lubed from the same engine oil and also clutch ?

(Only Ducati bikes use on some models dry type)

ex Motul 7100 get API SP now, if I understand correctly they drop additive percentage %%, so it will work better ?

I am completely confused

You’re not on the right page here. The test isn’t applicable to finished motor oils, it isn’t being performed with the correct equipment nor in the manner that is dictated by the test procedure, and the results are neither being obtained nor analyzed properly. It’s a dumpster fire in every direction.

Watch the video again if you need more reasons. People like this “test” because it’s a screeching and smoking demonstration that they imagine produces a “ranking” of some cumulative property of quality. Much like you’d see from a county fair hawker.

There’s nothing to be confused about. It’s a bunch of bull.

Interesting with the HPL test. Probably easier to go heavy on the EP adds when the oil only has to be in the vehicle for a single race and not worry about water ingress.

Would probably get corrosive if you left it in there for 10K... :)

Might be his best video but he didn't talk about why the HPL performed better than the other gear oil. Some of his videos are

In a previous video the high Zn classic produced the lowest wear, but this time the regular API SP/SQ beat out the classic blend.

So which is it? The one that fits narrative of the day?
