LSJr: Are All Fuels The SAME? (The FACTS About Fuels)

This is the reason I ONLY use Top Tier fuels in my cars. Have for years and don't buy any fuel that isn't unless I have an additive handy to add to the gas in a situation where I cannot find TT fuel. Exxon, Shell and Chevron here in the east or Rutter's if I see it. All are TT gasoline vendors. Sheetz, BJs, WaWa are NOT TT. Costco is TT.

Of course this is from a marketer of additives, so there is no doubt that he will recommend the most additive.
Further, the "best" amount is never quantified. How much better is not compared to the LAC. I'm not saying more additive isn't better, but how much of an improvement can be expected.
How many more miles can be expected before the same amount of intake valve deposits are generated?

I guess it's YMMV.

It was stated he is retired from Afton. You know a lot of retired people doing marketing?

The YOU can just run LAC gas. "Fine by me.":)

No, but he is still supporting the business.
Dr's still support "exercise" Don't do that he has some false intent getting you to "exercise"

Don't EVER trust your stock broker, every one of them will churning YOU.

Don't trusty your auto mechanic, ALL he wants is to sell you parts you never need.

Don't get your rear end check at 45-55 years old, as ALL they want is money. They have zero intent to help you find possible cancer. :) Just saying.:)

Wait, why am I on this site, all they want is AD Click money from me and user count#s to get money from me. My God, what a slippery slope I am involved in.

Waitress in a restaurant walks up:

Afternoon sir. Welcome. What can I get you to drink?

What’s your angle? You just want my money! I’m onto you - you just want me to eat this food - not buying it lady!

They just opened a Sheets down the street next to the Speedway. Sheetz is $4.11, SpeedWay $4.06. Those two are battling between each other. Costco is $4.69 at the moment. That difference could be quite a bit if you have a vehicle with a large tank, or just drive a lot.

I tend to find that the Citgo near me is the best price on TT and pretty much the same as the Costco down the road. I just don't like dealing with the Costco gas station. They are usually a clown show of people who don't know what they are supposed to be doing.

I use TT because the non-TT stations around here are the same price as mainstay TT brands. Actually, Exxon is cheaper than everyone else around here and I get club savings and incentive bonuses from Exxon and Shell.
Last time I had the intake manifold off of the BMWs for either starter or CCV tube replacements, the intake valves (MPFI) were shiny clean.

Shell V-Power/premium has always been advertised as having a higher amount of detergents than their mid-grade & regular fuel does-and it has been my go-to in the past in case of injector issues. GDI seems to be a different animal-can't help thinking a lot of intake valve buildup is oil related-it seems that it would take some effort for burned fuel to make that PCV trip around back to the intake side. Not looking forward to the day that I have to deal with it, walnut blasting, etc.! EDIT:I see how TT fuel makes a difference-got to keep those GDI injectors clean! Just like the port ones.

Greedway here is always the highest when prices jump-MANY times I can hit the local Shell, Marathon, or BP and get fuel for 30-40 cents less than the Speedway garbage.

0:56 of this Video is where I stopped it at, never saw that graph before.
It was this one for me...
