Does it really exsist? Penrite here in oz are one of the few to make a LPG specific oil. They claim it contains additives to combat acids formed by running on LPG. Its a semi-synthetic and its what im using now, but i want to use a full synthetic from now on since im over changing my oil so fast. I do over 1000kms per week and want to start maby using Redline 10W-40. I will call RL and see if its compatible with LPG but would like opinions from here. I'm not looking to save money, i want the longest OCI possible since changing it is a PITA where i live and time costs money since im self employed. My OC always seems to fall on the times im most busy!

Truck is a 2003 Toyota Hilux which has the 5vzfe 3.4 V6 with VSI LPG. 260,000kms so far and it wont be upgraded, ill keep it till it falls apart! It pulls over 1000kgs every day with most trips over 35 minutes each. Any idea what a OCI might be with the RL? I always changed the Penrite semi-synthetic at 7,500kms but one summer i left it till 9,000kms and i noticed immediately upon draining it had a 'burnt' smell. I was hoping the redline will push well over 30,000kms. I will do a used oil analysis if i go this way but any opinions on this?

AMSOIL Synthetic Vehicular Natural Gas Engine Oil may be used for extended drain intervals when monitored by an oil analysis program. When extending oil drain intervals, change the oil filter at the OEM-recommended interval.

Agreed. While my experiences are somewhat dated, I ran taxis, many of which were LPG, a number of years back through millions of miles. All used Quaker State conventional at 6,000 mile OCIs.

I don't think you'll have a problem. LPG burns cleaner than gasoline, all things being equal. The more modern gasoline engines are obviously better than what there was twenty years ago. However, compared to a diesel engine, you certainly won't get the soot loading.

Most of the oil companies LPG oils are 15w40, and seem to be rebottled mixed fleet oils.

If you want a reasonably priced synthetic, Delvac 1 would probably foot the bill nicely.

Don't worry about it, any PCMO or HDEO would work for LPG vehicle. My previous oil change i'm using ASL 5w30 for both my LPG Territory and 380, this coming oil change i have prepare Red Line 5w30 for it.

For my Dual fuel lpg Holden, Holden spec HN2154 which are HDEO oils, which i why i either use Delo 400 Multigrade, Delvac MX or Repco Diesel 15w40. Hilux have some of the best engines, Redline is waste in it. Use a HDEO oils as previously mentioned. They are all CI-4/SL oils. Penrite LPG are CG-4 oils which is the minimum required for LPG oils.
