Does it really exsist? Penrite here in oz are one of the few to make a LPG specific oil. They claim it contains additives to combat acids formed by running on LPG. Its a semi-synthetic and its what im using now, but i want to use a full synthetic from now on since im over changing my oil so fast. I do over 1000kms per week and want to start maby using Redline 10W-40. I will call RL and see if its compatible with LPG but would like opinions from here. I'm not looking to save money, i want the longest OCI possible since changing it is a PITA where i live and time costs money since im self employed. My OC always seems to fall on the times im most busy!
Truck is a 2003 Toyota Hilux which has the 5vzfe 3.4 V6 with VSI LPG. 260,000kms so far and it wont be upgraded, ill keep it till it falls apart! It pulls over 1000kgs every day with most trips over 35 minutes each. Any idea what a OCI might be with the RL? I always changed the Penrite semi-synthetic at 7,500kms but one summer i left it till 9,000kms and i noticed immediately upon draining it had a 'burnt' smell. I was hoping the redline will push well over 30,000kms. I will do a used oil analysis if i go this way but any opinions on this?
