1/2 qt useage may be not be a problem but I don't think it is a good thing.
If an engine burns a qt/300mi it is not dogged out. It has leaking valve seals and needs fixed.
FWIW I have had oil consumption in every vehicle I have used GTX in. I switched to another brand and it went away.
example:
OCI before GTX (any brand dino)-no consumption
OCI with GTX-oil consumption
Next OCI (any brand beside GTX)-back to NO consumption
I would change brands. IME an engine will consume Castrol GTX and not other brands.
