You missed Castrol EDGE 5w30.

That’s an out of date formula. Current one only meets 50200/50500/50501 for VW specs.

Castrol is terrible with documentation QC.

They are two different products. You quoted data for Castrol EDGE 5w30 C3, I quoted data for Castrol EDGE 5w30 (period).

From the Castrol USA website:

Quote:
CASTROL EDGE IS AVAILABLE IN THE FOLLOWING GRADES: 0W-20, 0w30 A3/B4, 0W-40 A3/B4, 5W-20, 5w30, 5w30 A3/B4, 5w30 C3, 5w30 DIESEL, 5W-40, 5W-40 TURBO DIESEL, 5W-50, 10w30, 10W-40 AND 10W-60

Castrol EDGE 5w30 does not carry 504/507/C30 approval. I think the PDS you linked to (a C3 oil) is old and was replaced with EDGE 5w30 C3.

Edit: Actually, I think there may be two oils. The one you listed is “EDGE 5w30 for European Diesels,” not regular EDGE 5w30 (a GF-5 oil). AAP carries it at $10.50 a quart lol. It’s weird because of the overlapping approvals.

Weasley, in your quote that refers to Castrol 5w30 in list of grades, that first one you bolded would be referring to the SN/GF-5 version here (i.e. A5/B5 if it still has it). Looking closer at the quote, you perhaps should have highlighted the one after the C3. I would gather that "5w30 DIESEL" might be it, if, indeed, it still exists, since the only other 5w30 "diesel oil" Castrol has in North America, to my knowledge, is tiered as Elixion in E6, rather than an Edge.

You may be right, although the US-specific 5w30 is named "Castrol EDGE 5w30 US" on the PDS.

That said, the point remains - there is a 5w30 version with the spec profile the OP was after.

Yes, and believe it or not, they actually have that right on the bottle, too.
