I think you'd find the job market better than you think for someone with your skills.
You should apply for some things online, and thereby get to talk with a few headhunters.
I think you'll find your skillset more in demand than you realize.
Also, since these people get paid by hiring empoyers for placing you, they will advise you on how to tune up your resume.
You are, after all, a product to be marketed from their point of view.
