An aftermarket trim piece left this waterspot line on my vehicle. I do not have any rotary tools and was looking for a way I could quickly buff and polish this mark? There is also a couple funny spots on the paint that appeared after taking it to maaco I was wondering if I could remove as well.

Any advice would be nice, I am more into the mechanical side of vehicles and less the pretty appearance of them, I’d love to learn.

I was planning on following this video for the polish, but what should I use for the water spots: YouTube short link

What exactly is this water spot made of?
If it's just calcium deposits, you might be able to dissolve it with some white vinegar.
If it's leftover glue, try to dissolve it with the mildest solvent first. Like, start with 91% Isopropyl alcohol, then kerosene, then mineral spirits, goof off, etc.
In other words, any solvent that wont damage the paint.
When you get into the lacquer thinner stuff, you will be risking paint damage.

When it gets pretty close to gone, a little polishing compound should blend it in perfectly.
