In stock trim, yes. But I have a friend with the most beautiful looking C4 ZR1 you will ever see. Big wheels and the right ride height make a world of difference (and the color helps here too!)Yeah the c4 is kind of ugly

Yeah. Well I mean you see all these econo boxes going around with the paint peeled off. Like Toyota corollas or Honda civics. The C5 body panels are made of sheet molded composite (basically a fancy work for modern fiberglass) and some carbon fiber has come into play from the C6 and newer in some models.
The C6 Z06 and ZR1 used an aluminum chassis. But because you mentioned paint I assumed that you thought the body panels were aluminum too.
The paint quality of Corvettes is very high, you won’t see any peeling clear coat issues here. And the quality got even better in November 2017 when they opened up a new paint facility at the Bowling Green factory. In fact my 2018 model was produced in November 2017 and was built in the first or second week of production in the new paint facility. I was thrilled when I got my car and looked over the paint. And 7+ years later it’s still holding up perfectly and even has very few stone chips despite being driven 67,000 milesYeah. So only the chassis is aluminum on the c6?The C5 body panels are made of sheet molded composite (basically a fancy work for modern fiberglass) and some carbon fiber has come into play from the C6 and newer in some models.

The Z06 and ZR1 versions have an aluminum chassis and all versions of the C6 have aluminum engine blocks and aluminum cylinder heads as well as many suspension bits made of aluminumSo only the chassis is aluminum on the c6?
A C5 ZO6 corvette that is. Either that or a C4 ZR1, but you can't even find one of those. What is your opinion on these? Anything to watch out for?
So is a c5 the popular one to have even compared to the newer 7 and 8s?I would choose a C5 Z06.
No, but it’s quite a bit cheaper. So is a c5 the popular one to have even compared to the newer 7 and 8s?
True. $25k is a bit cheaper than $75kNo, but it’s quite a bit cheaper.
My dad had a 1999 c5 coupe he paid $14k for in like 2009 and now they want upwards of $20k for that same carTrue. $25k is a bit cheaper than $75k
I know a lot of Corvette guys who prefer the C5 over anything newer and are hanging on to theirs. When I had my C5 I wanted a C6 so badly and when I eventually got one I was disappointed. It wasn’t as big of a jump as I expected and kinda wished I had hung on to the C5 longer. Although I love my C7 the most of all of them.So is a c5 the popular one to have even compared to the newer 7 and 8s?
IMO, C5Z 2004 was peak corvette. It was all down hill from there.A C5 ZO6 corvette that is. Either that or a C4 ZR1, but you can't even find one of those. What is your opinion on these? Anything to watch out for?
How come? I know a lot of people were mad when they did away with the flip up headlights.IMO, C5Z 2004 was peak corvette. It was all down hill from there.
They were just really solid cars. Parts are common and available. The ls6 engine is absolutely a legend for a reason. Super easy to get another 100whp out of if 405 isn't enough, handling is very good. Interior is par for the course for GM though. It's just the best 25k you can spend in its class imo. Or you could get a c6z with the trash ls7 motor or step up to a c6 zr1 which had a very solid and well rounded mechanical profile, but that will cost. I just like the c5z. Perfect blend of bulletproof reliability vs cost vs performance. How come? I know a lot of people were mad when they did away with the flip up headlights.
Unless a rat chewed a wire in half, it's bomb proof. Also, are these c5 zo6's still reliable cars? I mean a 22 year old car is a 22 year old car still grant it most have fairly low miles. 60k and under
What do people do about the radio that looks like it's from 1993? That's the only thing that drives me crazy lolUnless a rat chewed a wire in half, it's bomb proof.
Take it to the local audio shop of your choice and give them a budget. What do people do about the radio that looks like it's from 1993? That's the only thing that drives me crazy lol
