I'll start off by saying I'm not any planning illegal mods - my Grand Marquis is a Mid East spec made to run on leaded fuel. I have no catalytic converters, no oxygen sensors and no EGR from the factory. The EGR hardware is there, but it's deleted from the PCM. Found this out the hard way, when I was trying to delete the EGR system myself.

Long story short, I had 2 resonators in place of the rear catalytic converters on my factory h-pipe:

I had a thinner, driver's side tailpipe welded in place of these resonators, which was off a '10 Crown Vic at the yard. At anything past half throttle, it rattles like crazy.

The engine feels noticeably lighter at highway speeds and I'd like to maintain this setup, minus the rattle. So I'm looking for off-road mid-pipes/down-pipes that run from the exhaust manifold to the H-pipe. Just wondering if anyone know where I can get them, and if anyone has any recommendations.

I'm not looking for anything obnoxious, because the plan is to later upgrade to Stainless Works long tube headers without catalytic converters and an X-pipe next year. I just need something that doesn't rattle for the time being. Thanks!

Angry Duck Tofu Racing. They are local to me and I have met the owner. He has a blown crown vic with mickey thompson ET Drag's he DD's.

Are there any competent exhaust shops near you? Maybe pick up an X portion from Bassani and make pipes off of that.

Plan on picking up his rear control arms for the Panther in my family as well as his Watt's link and sway bars.

Chris is a good man. Forgot about his website, but he's the guy behind Stainless Works' exhaust for the Vic. I'll email him and see what he says, that didn't cross my mind.

I'm going for the Metco rear suspension package as well, plus P71 spring (can't remember the spring codes but they are the stiffest ones) with Bilstein shocks.

Thanks! Seemed to most find Mustang stuff, but maybe I can get a matching pipe to weld in, worst case scenario in case I can't find mid-pipes.

Well, no luck with the straight mid-pipes. Ended up getting a stock set for $35 off a 2002 Grand Marquis LS:

Just needs a bit of cleaning up, and they're going on along with a set of new gaskets. Should do me for a year before I upgrade to the SW system.
