Hi gang, I'm here to ask what type of coolant you would suggest for my 07 Saab 93 2L turbo. Car has 66,000 mi on the clock. Engine mildly tuned to 269hp/317 lb ft.

Im still on FF which I believe to be dexcool. I am planning a flush soon, and am looking at zerex coolant. Would zerex dexcool or zerex g05 be better for my car? I'm not looking for long life coolants, I just want what is best for longevity. I believe the radiator to be an all aluminum Valeo core.

Also I see a lot of you guys dismiss chemical coolant flushes, but should I use it once when switching brands of coolant?

Saab oe was g-33 or 34, which is the glysantin equivalent of dex. I'd run zerex dexcool in there without thinking twice. Use distilled water. Be careful with the stopcock, and use a foot of flexible tubing to direct the radiator drain into your pan.

Thx guys, plan on picking up some zerex dexcool when I return from the beach. I need tasks to occupy me on my final days of vacation.

Not looking forward to messing with that stopcock, I hear that thing can be a pain in the a** to mess with.

Thanks again.

Hello, I've done a couple of Saab 9-5's and what I do is reach down along the passenger side of the radiator with my left hand so I can employ my thumb. Either the 1999 or the 2005 needed the battery removed for easy reach to the drain cock. Also, I got on the ground to open it the first time because I wanted a good square approach to the plastic thing. After the first draining the plastic drain cock was lubed up and acted fine. Use a chemical flush and rinse a lot. Kira
