My brother is stranded in Phoenix with a broken down mid nineties Winnebago Rialta which is based on the VW Eurovan. It has an intermittent stall, crank no start condition. The one shop he found that would look at it charged him $300 but couldn't diagnose the issue.

Of course no one wants to touch it with a ten foot pole as it has two strikes against it (motorhome AND a VW).

Any leads on an old school VW garage would be much appreciated.

Any dealer. It's probably the crank sensor.

If he's going to drive an old VW he needs to keep VCDS with him.

I wonder if there's a VW club in the area. Contact one of the club's officers.
