I seem to recall a very interesting thread about a ??1995? Civic with very high mileage, 500-600,000 miles. he changed the transmission. fluid with every oil change, car looks and runs like new.

anyone know this thread?

I was once in a Lincoln town car, a limo in Arizona. The odometer read something like 400,000. I asked the driver, He said YES. The car was driven tons of miles, and had oil changes, brakes, etc as usual. It looked sparkly clean, too. that meant, an oil change something like every 2 weeks, brakes, 2 months, etc.
