Couple months back I was sitting at a red light. Next thing I know out of nowhere my truck gets rearended. So I turn on my hazard lights, get out of my truck to find out a spanish dude hit me with his family all pyled up in the Explorer.

Despite I do have a hot temper I tried to keep my cool just simply asked him "you mind telling me what that was all about?? Juan, the spanish guy says "oh I'm so sorry, me and my family are trying to get back to Texas tommorow night in time and I was in a hurry. Then I interrputed him and said "ok, let's pull over in the Sunoco(local gas station) parking lot and we'll talk. Juan agreed and so I pull over in the parking lot and what does juan decide to do? Goes right around me, guns the gas and he's gone. I was keeping a sharp eye on him the whole time he followed me in case he decides to do something stupid, sure enough he did so I was able to get his plates.

Fortunately I had my cell handy and I knew the number to the local PD right off the bat and gave them a ring. To make a long story short, juan was driving around with no insurance and a suspended license. So who's the guinea pig that gets the finger pointed at for fixing repairs on my truck?? you guessed it,,,,,,me!

Anyway, the main point here is I'm trying to locate a new/used/whatever chrome bumper for my truck. My truck is a 98 Ford Ranger reg. cab flareside 2wd. It needs the whole shabang pretty much. Meaning, new bumper, bumper brackets, plastic trim and new license plate bulb. Autozone quoted me $335 give or take for a brand new one. Fitzergald body shop quoted me $355 for the bumper alone! Anyone know of a good website or somewhere in Ohio I can locate a good used bumper for my truck? I really don't feel like paying anything over $250 if I can help it. Thanks,,,,AR

Ironnically, what you want is "Texas Road Armour (Armor in US?)". I saw it while heading down to Central America several years ago. Basically, it is a couple pieces of rail road track and it will definately decrease your mileage.

So what happened to the guy did he get arrested? In the REAL WORLD he should have been arrested to be forced to pay restitution to repair your bumper and pay back taxpayers. The bond would have been inclusive of $350 to repair bumper and paperwork. No money to pay, fine stay in jail a while and your vehicle is impounded. Its funny how you do this and people will find a way to come up with the money!

www.therangerstation.com, go to Forums, then look in the Swap Meet Forum or post in the Want To Buy Forum yourself. Lots of people from OH, MI, PA in there.

Also Summit Racing has some generic truck bumpers that look pretty much like OE for about $100 less than you were quoted.
