Just wanted to enlighten many which may not be aware of the new standard ILSAC GF-5 Many improvements over GF4.
Here is the link & good info from Lubrizol:
GF5 Lubrizol
I know many including myself use quality synthetics in their vehicles, look for the GF5 rating on your bottles to ensure you are getting the latest stock.
Not all oils have this rating.
Current stock including Mobil 1 & Castol Edge Etc should display the ILSAC GF5 on rear of bottle.

Welcome! This is pretty old news. Most lube mfgrs have stated their SOTA synthetics in SM/GF4 would meet GF5 as is. The big performance improvenments would be in "conventional" labeled lubes.

LOL. Fresh "news" indeed:

Welcome to BITOG!

It's nice that you want to enlighten us after being here for all of 1 day, but as others have stated earlier, this is fairly old news.

And some oils don't have it for a reason. Many of the Euro applications call for oils that need to meet even more stringent specs than GF5. In fact the fuel economy requirements of GF5 spec are such that it would not be possible for these Euro oils to meet it. But that does not mean they're bad oils. What I am trying to say is that whether you want a GF5 oil or not really depends on the application. There is no one-fit-all oil out there.

Look at it this way. The OP found out all kinds of information about GF-5 without asking a bunch of questions about it. He obviously knows how to search. We certainly didn't need to link, but perhaps the thread could be locked and made a sticky. After all, it has a great subject and a good link!
