97 Saturn 1.9 @ 120,000 miles (I believe it cleaned out the piston oil ring belt and cut oil consumption dramatically)

Briggs & Stratton 5hp Quantum on a portable gen set

For my neighbor down the street: 1970's vintage Formula Ford...still actively raced...no problems that I know of.

2001 audi allroad 2.7L v-6 biturbo 75k miles
2000 vw passat v6 60k
1994 ford ranger 4.0L v6 205k

coming soon: 2002 vw golf 1.9L tdi (not a pd) (at 70k)

I have new news that developed since I wrote the following above:

03' VW GTI 1.8T. Using the Gold GC for 1st time (have 5000k miles on it now and will change it soon) and engine starts up without the chatter in cold weather that all of these oils caused:
M1 0W-40, Valvoline 5W-40, Amsoil 5W-40.
Turbo lag is slightly but noticeably decreased too. Gas mileage is the same as far as I can tell...I expected it to improve but no. No oil consumption with any of these oils.

I did actually get oil consumption with Gold GC. A few days ago I made a 7 hr trip going 80 to 85 mph most of the way (RPMs around 3500) and have now had a chance to check the oil on level ground. My engine did consume some Gold GC even though I've made this same trip with the above oils with zero noticable oil consumption. Also, there was no oil consumption in the first 4600 miles of using GC and driving at more normal speeds. After this high speed trip, the level on the dipstick dropped a little over 1/8 inch. The owners' manual for 03' VW 1.8T engines calls for a 5W-40 oil and I dislike oil consumption enough that I'm going back to using 40 weight oils. The issue is too low of viscosity combined with sustained moderately high rpm driving, not oil volatility (GC's volatility is actually lower than most or all of the 40 weight oils I've used).

Just stating my findings, whatever they may be...the truth > silly loyalty!

2004 Saturn Vue with the Honda 3.5L V6
1996 Saturn SL2 DOHC

The Vue seemed a bit sluggish with GC. I didn't notice anything different between it and M1.

1999 Ford F-150 with the 5.4 engine.

6 quarts of GC and a bottle of Valvoline Synpower oil treatment.

No problems in the cold New England weather.

My 03 Mercury Marauder with 4.6 liter, DOHC 32V Intec V8, GC Green. (Switched from 10W-30 M1)

My 02 Lincoln Continental with 4.6 liter, DOHC 32V Intec V8 presently has 10W-30 RedLine, but will switch to GC Green at next oil change.

2004 Infiniti G35 Sed (VQ35-DE v-6), Better NVH, Great UOA (for this engine).

2003 Toyota Camry V-6 (1MZ-FE, VVT version), NVH fine, UOA good as usual, suspected minor drop in mpg.

2001 Toyota Sequoia (2UZ-FE V-8), who can tell -- this engine never does anything to any oil. . .but is sure sounds nice with GC in it (but again, I defy anyone to find an oil that makes this engine sound like anything but buttered silk).

1996 Audi S6 2.2 Turbo Q Avant, 103,000 miles.
Changed to Castrol LongTec (equal datasheet to Gold GC here in Europe) at 100,000 miles.
Before I've used M1 0W-40, Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40 and Statoil Synthetic 5W-40.
Knock on wood.... no problems so far

bar1: Any pics of your Avant?

Here's a pic of my old 2001 S4 Avant (sadly, no longer in my posession):

Gotta love a fast "grocery-getter"

2002 Acura RSX Type-S. Bought used with ~20K miles. At first scheduled OCI, Auto-RXd it and started off fresh with GC.
During the rinse phase of Auto-RX, the engine drank some of the Castrol GTX. Subsequently after the Auto-RX cycles, I administered GC, the thirst has been quenched. >4K miles so far and VTEC now sings. May have a very slight loss in MPG. But that could easily be the *Pb* in my right foot.

Want to try it on my 2002 VW Passat 1.8T next. I have stuck to Valvoline Synpower 5W40 for the Passat with good UOAs so far.

1996 Honda Accord v6 2.7l using gold for > than last 3000 mi. now, used as first change when buying the car used, in the last 1000 mi. the first few minutes of "sewing machine " sound /tick from the hydraulic lash adjusters has noticibly decreased.

Andy, I remember your car when it was new sitting on the Don Rosen Audi lot! Delbert was my service guy there. He was pretty cool, but not super "friendly". I suppose you don't still have your coilover set sitting in a drawer somewhere?

Audi Junkie: Yup, according to another local Audi enthusiast my S4 sat in their showroom for quite some time as well.

Delbert was a good guy, he took good care of me and my Audi while I owned it.

The H&R "street" coilovers went to a good home...another local S4 owner who helped me remove them and reinstall my stock suspension prior to turning the car back in (lease return). I paid him for the labor with the coilovers...he's happily still running them on his S4 sedan.
