Blackstone: The universal averages column shows typical wear from this type of transmission after about 27,000 miles on the oil. Depending on how long this oil was run, the copper and lead may be normal or it could show some excess wear at bronze parts. If the oil was run significantly longer, that may account for the excess wear. The oil was still in pretty good shape physically, so we don’t think the oil was over-run. The viscosity was fine and no insolubles showed up. In any case, we think it was a good time to have the oil changed. Check back in 20,000 miles.code:
