There is no slight intended and no inconsistency. Certain oil formulations, such as Chevron Delo Lubricant ESI, have a primary borate additive but no secondary additive. There is also a lighter weight Delo Transmission Fluid ESI with the same amount of borate. They may not fit the model of the S-P oil that we are all so familiar with.
I simply want to know what happens to the borate film when the temperature rises and there is no S-P additive to activate. Does the borate film continue to be effective at high temperatures or does it fail?
