After sitting 24 hours my 09 Dodge Ram with 5.7 Hemi has lifter rattle.Last solid 1 or 2 seconds. Did not do this until first oil change at 2500 miles.Now has 3800 miles.Amsoil 5w20 XL and a Wix oil filter.Takes sitting more then overnight to rattle.It sat for several days at a time before the oil change with no noise on the factory fill/filter.

Defective anti drain back valve? Or you need a silicone drain back valve? Buy another filter with silicone valve or the Mopar filter, and give it a shot.
My Taurus always requires a silicone valve or it rattles.

Possibly a filter issue. Try a different manufacturer.
I agree with Pablo and the other's more then likely it is a oil filter anti-drain back valve issue very common. Just pick up Walmart oil filter I have had good luck with them. I have also had good luck with the filters Advanced Auto Parts sells under their own name brand!Puralator and Motorcraft and Donaldson and Baldwin also make excellent filters!Out of that list of brands you should be able to find a good one.
1-2 seconds is not a major issue either I think just about ever vehicle I have owned with lifters has made some noise for the first 1-2 seconds....I have only owned 2 vehicles that had lifters on had a race prepped small block in it that was turned into a daily driver and the other was a Ford car with a I4 in it. If the lifters ticked for 10 seconds or longer after start up I would see that as a problem but 1-2 seconds is not anything to worry about.

Yeah, my 4.7 is VERY picky. It has quite the lifter tick if I don't use Wix or Napa Gold filters.
I'm with Pablo... Try a different filter. Is your HEMI equipped with MDS?

Mine did that with the Napa Gold filter, it just sat overnight and started the next morning about 8-10 hours between starts and I heard the lifter noise for a few seconds. I changed over to Mobil 1 oil filter and it eliminated the lifter noise on start up and my hemi tick was reduced. I also switched from Mobil 1 oil to PP oil.

Almost assuredly not the oil, but the filter.
Motorcraft FL820's are a great PH8A sized filter. In fact if memory serves me correctly Pablo used to run dual FL820 on his redblock Volvo engine! This was before we went over tot he dark side!!!LOL My point is they are well known to be a high quality filter and almost anyone that has ever used a filter in that size has used them and been happy with them! They are a consistently good product made by Puralator for Ford.
A minor correction though no 4.7V8 has lifters they have hydralic slack adjusters kind of like what Porsche used on some of it's I4 designs that it sold to other companies! THe 5.7 Hemi though has true old school hydralic lifters. Lifters are one of the most often warantied parts in domestic V8. They have an extremly high failure rate when you look at how often one or two sets are warantied.

I'm somewhat disappointed in the Wix filter.Was suppose to be high quality.I ordered through Amsoil with my my oil etc.

Should I contact WIX or Amsoil whom I bought it through.Anyone one know hom makes the FACTORY filter put on in the assembly plant? just curious.
All Hemis in the 1500s have MDS.It did nlot do this in the first 2500 miles and it sat a few times for a week..Not until the oil/filter change and It did it that very same week after sitting a couple of days.Has done it several times since.I have put hardly more then a 1000 miles on this oil/filter change.

The 350 developed a lifter tic on start up at about 90,000 mi. I topped it off with a bottle of Marvel Mystery Oil and it went away. It was, I suspect, a bit of varnish in the lifters. On a a GM V8 there is no issue of drainback because the filter is vertical-every one that I have had, at any rate.

Interesting. Wix has a separate filter. I know Fram book specs a PH2, or at least it did. The FL820S got shorter as you know so it is probably pretty close to the Dodge spec.
The factory filter may have been a Purolator. Thats who makes Mopar aftermarket filters. No way to know for sure, now, unless you still happen to have it and can take pictures. I will still say to try a Motorcraft FL820S and see what happens. Its also made by Purolator and has a base end bypass.
