Li Mega

I dont like the exterior shape. It reminds me of the Chevy Lumina. No way would I want one but I can see a large family wanting one.
I do like the SUV one with a gasoline battery charger and would take that based on the exterior look in a heartbeat.

How many hundreds of ev companies have gone belly up. I bet none of them other than Tesla are making a profit and are on borrowed time including that thing.

Unless the company I'm buying ev's from is profitable from their ev's not their gas cars which then subsidizes the bleeder then I don't wanna own that thing, they'll go bust and there'll be next to no parts or support.

Well, we all know every electronic device spies on you. Including American companies like Tesla which is by far one of the worst.
Musk was unable to remotely open the doors of the terrorists Cyber Truck, produce videos/photos of him charging the truck at all the charging stations too.
Not disagreeing and not trying to put a spin, and really a silly thing to write but American companies are not our enemy. Plus we have a better chance of getting some laws in place to stop this junk (although easier to control by just not letting Chinese stuff in the USA)

For me personally loss of privacy by corporations and government surveillance is the road too ... well, topics not to be discussed in here.
I never knew a friendly American company that was not out to get away with whatever they can for shareholder profits, they will sell anyone on the street if they could, except one company I think makes a boatload of money protecting privacy and I can only think of one. It starts with an "A"

BYD in China is the largest manufacturer of EV's in the world. Larger than Tesla.

You can't buy one even if you wanted to.

J-1772 and Chademo? Is that what I saw?

Vehicle silhouette looks like a PriusV, just larger, if you ask me. Obviously the front end is different, but I mean the general shape of the car.

The main objective of a public company is to maximize the wealth of the shareholders, and the C-Level staff is judged by that. They are beholden to the shareholders.

I would not say that means take extreme advantage of your customers. The definition of a "good customer" is someone who buys some of your product or service, prospers because of it and comes back to buy more.

Repeat customers are the lifeblood of a for-profit corporation.

And customer data is golden...

All those electronic controls as that thing ages...****.
The Chinese seem to be exploring options and pushing tech in the EV world while we here in the US seem to be doing the opposite. It may just be perception on my part but I would like to see more home grown innovation.

100%. They are leaving us behind, at least partially because it's a culture war touchpoint for us, but not for them.

I guess people are happy with the prospect of China selling EVs to the world and not the US.

Anything that can be hacked will be hacked, by your allies or your enemies.

I like my car without wireless connection and keep track of what I do and where I visit. Imagine a lawyer use your typical driving habits to "prove" that you are at fault to a bunch of uneducated jury and turn that against you.

This is true, however you and some others are missing a key point. Your data is also sold and shared with other companies of which you have no control. There is no one policing this and in many cases it goes to the highest bidder. So yes, customer data and the profiles companies create about are sure are "golden" = money.
Maybe not directly from auto companies but I know a highly paid individual who works in the "packaging" of data.
Not too interested in much of this but I think foolish for people not to care about being profiled and naive to think American companies are friends of yours anymore than overseas companies. Actually the EU by far is much more proactive limiting American and all other countries from using the personal information of its citizens by a HUGE scale compared to the USA
