Lexus GX 470

Hey all,

Newbie here! Love this site. I have a 2005 Lexus GX 470 with the 4.7 V8 in it. From what I have read thus far, it seems to be easy on oil and pretty much a bullet proof engine.
It has 65,000 miles on it. I just switched to Pennzoil Platinum 5w30.

I have an 2002 Ford Excursion with the 6.8L V0-10 with 44,000 miles on it. I use MotorCraft Syn. Blend 5w20 in this rig.

I would like to get them on the same oil diet "IF" possible.

I would also like to stay with either PP or the Ultra version. Would it be better to stay with 5w20 for both or move to them to 5w30???

5W-20 in an Excursion? Whoa.

I gotta say, if the Lexus feels good on Pennzoil Platinum 5w30, ty Edge.

I would stick with 5W-20 MC for the BEAST and keep the 5w30 on the Lex. What beautiful cars, man. The SUV version of the LX460.

I'd be fine running 5w30 in anything that calls for 5w20. However I would not run 5w20 in anything calling for 5w30.

Use 5w30 for both if you want 1 oil stock. Won't hurt anything and (plenty will disagree with me on this) might just be a better choice than 5w20 even in the Ford.
