I went over something at 60MPH getting into the freeway (something was on the side of the road as we have a lot of contruction) and there is a slight humming sound coming from passenger side axle. The bearing was replaced with OEM and the noise is still there - could it be a CV axle.

The axle has slight clunk for a very long time coming off the driveway (it could have be a faulty axle from manufacturer) and the hit was the last nail on the coffin.

Any thoughts

Cardone has an HD CV axle for the right, but not the left, for your 2011 ES350. The HD has a thermoplastic outer boot (though the inner boot is neoprene, but that isn't a problem)

Of course, Toyota probably sells an OE axle, but they cost much more.

I would stick with an OEM or a used OEM one.

I am guessing your car has the OEM axle from the factory? Toyota axles are excellent quality and they last forever, I reboot all my Toyota axles and have never had an issue return.

You must confirm 100% that your axle is making the noise before replacing it.

It sounds like the hit might have caused some damage, especially if the axle was already making a noise before. If the bearing was replaced and the humming is still there, there's a good chance it could be the CV axle. The slight clunk you've been hearing could also be a sign that the axle was already on its way out. I'd recommend having the CV axle checked out to see if it’s the source of the noise)
