Sir, this comment is just dead wrong incorrect. I'm looking for a filter that will clean my oil, have the greatest probability of NOT experiencing an in-service failure, AND won't leave me feeling that I've been served up the very cheapest thing the manufacturer could slap together.

With all due respect, this is a masterpiece of illogic. Unless it has a psychotic owner, a bat attack is not something that a computer will ever see while in service. In contrast, oil filters can and do fail, and if they do, it can lead to engine destruction (can, not will). I just provided you two pictures of a filter that actually failed, above. Of course, that's not a high probability event, but still, that leads me to want the best I can get for my money, not the minimally sufficient option (especially for the same money).
Which leads again, directly, to the question you're still not answering: when you can have better and stronger for the same money, why not buy it? Or rephrased: why spend the same money, only to get flimsier and weaker?

The same illogic as noted above. The jacked SUV guy probably bought if for ego reasons, not because he'll ever go off road. But filters can and do fail. That's a real danger, as compared to the unreal need for the in-city 4x4 SUV.

Relying upon comments like this just proves that you don't have anything of substance to offer. I'm "right", if you want to call it that, not because imaginary midgets might attack your oil filter. I'm "right" because I have simply pointed out that you can have much better than a Fram for about the same price, leaving no real reason to justify bothering with Fram. And in a half-dozen posts, you've shown nothing to the contrary.
