As long as the grips aren't too slippery, I don't care.

I had a pair of Marsee gloves that I really liked. Wish they still made that style.

I do not like foam grips. I don't find that they dampen vibration much and they are too fat.

My Harley friends and family highly endorse Kuryakyn grips.

I think that might be more of a style thing.

I made it back in one piece from my trip and the spider grips were great, I to wear gloves all the time (although i have thin hands and fingers) so there's not much meat to obsorb.. ive not personally found much difference in glove performace with there perspective groups: gauntlet, short mesh, lether mx style.. in the long run other than feel most gloves have always seemed to offer about the same amount of dampening in my opnion. I had 24,xxx on the R1 with the factory grips still on there but rock hard and slippery, they even had a bit of a glossy sheen to them. The spiders are great, ive not had any real hand pain to speak of since swapping them out. Great buy !

Best grip I found are Spider Grips...

Spider Grips feature durable variable density elastomers, patent
pending shaped boundary layers with isolated secondary layers,
energy dispersing flanges, and a multi-faceted geometric surface
area. Spider Grips are manufactured in Taiwan and distributed by
Pit Bull.

Ride with Spider Grips and you'll feel less vibration, which in
turn means less fatigue. You can give up the death grip hold, so
you won't get arm pump and you'll be able to ride longer.
Special grip material works great, even when wet.

My method of removing grips without destroying them...

1)slip a rat tail comb under the grip...

2)trickle alcohol down the length of the gap created by the comb...

3)remove comb and twist the grip to work the alcohol in between grip and throttle barrel...
