Try this brew,Harviestoun's Old Engine Oil. A dark oily viscosity with a coffee like taste.

Has anyone besides me seen the Discovery Channels Series "The Beer Hunter" It is six half hour shows on beer all around the globe. Made in the late 80's if you can find it you have to watch it!

I don't remember the brewer - it was a local Munich brewery. My motto is to try the beers of countries I visit. So far the crappiest one has been an Italian beer, I think the brand was 'Barron' or something like that.

Mori - I thought we were talking about beer?

Actually those unhopped robo beers are ok with sashimi. I like the Asahi, and have duped it once using like 10% rice or something...

Pablo, I only had it down there where it was fresh. It's good, but way too light for me. It was better than Oly and some of that stuff you guys try to pass off as beer. Light Beer always begs the question "WHY" for me.

How about Budweiser Budvar from the Czech Republic? It is known as Czechvar in the states.A better beer than the Adolphus Busch has produced.

Some beers travel better than others, strong Belgian ales for example where yeast is added to the bottle just before capping or corking, many of these beers actually improve with some age. In my beer cellar "dark cool basement floor"I have found that beers in the 8%+ range seem to age the best.

Anyone tried Bluemoon or Sunshine? Two excellent wheat beers. Oh so good with a nice slice of lemon, but for some reason, Bluemoon tastes funky the warmer it gets (more so than other beers), so it must be ice cold.

Bert Grant beers is excellent also. his perfect porter is really close to being perfect. on his wheat beer it claimed "my beer gives flavor to the lemon, not the other way around."
he was an innovator in the brew pub and micro brew world.

Because I'm thirsty.

Imagine doing some heavy yard work or some hot job like that when it's 94°F and 86% relative humidity, and then taking a few big gulps of a stout or a double bock. It just doesn't work.

I totally agree! After a hot days work, I'd rather not have a Guiness Stout. Bla. They don't call cheap light beer "lawnmower" beer for nothin. It has it's place.
