LED Flashlight Choices

Hey guys, im looking at getting a nice LED flashlight for nighttime dog walks. My requirements are that it uses AA batteries, has a push-button, and is going to last a long time. Ive narrowed it to the Fenix E21 or Streamlight series. All good brands offer lifetime warranty, was wondering if anyone has ever used one of these warranty programs and how was the experience.
I ask since ive bought craftsman tools in the past with lifetime warranty that turned into a nightmare to do. I hold onto flashlights for a very very long time, so I want something that is backed by someone good. Any suggestions on lights or brands?

try coast led lenser lights, they are very high quality and carry a lifetime warranty at a fraction of the price of the others you mentioned, in fact i just bought a few at an estate sale that are all new and unused, if interested i will sale them cheap and can send pics and shipping quotes.
 
I read an article last week that the management of sears / k-mart is working on their the next stupid mistake. They are planning on getting rid of sears and only having the k-mart brand. Sad.

Anyway, The Fenix is a $35 flashlight and a "limited lifetime warranty" and Fenix is in China. The details of the warranty is - basically a 2 year warranty. I would not get too excited about a $35 flashlight. It is about par for the course: about as good as it will get.

For the record, I have a Fenix TK45 flashlight that I believe to be the best thing since sliced bread (wrote a nice amazon review on it). It is a bit more than you are looking at. My TK45 lights up the world for me using eight AA batteries (Envelop rechargeable AA Batteries and the best AA charger I could find).

Also, I recommend that you visit candle power forums? (See link below). Best flashlight site in the world. They have a talk today about "AA Thrower" - Flashlights that use AA batteries and shine a long distance you would be interested in because they mention the TK20.

Dave- Thanks for the candlepower forum, had vaguely heard of it. Just checked it out for over an hour, lots and lots of great stuff out there.
 
I bought three of the 4AA streamlignt flashlights from batteries-plus and had to take two of them back. No problem, just walk in and they take care of you. The 4AA streamlight is a good flashlihgt for close use, like within 15 feet, it fans out well. Not a flashlight for any decent distance like across the back yard.

the 4 sevens quark line is great. I use one with an 18650 Li-ion as a headlamp for my bike. Very bright and efficient.

4sevens lights are great, and David Chow is a flashlight nerd through and through. He knows how to design a light! They are some of the most efficient flashlights you can buy at any price.
 
I use Surefire flashlights, got the Defender series flashlight for the girlfriend which has 200 lumen output and the Z2-S Combat light with 160 lumen output for me. Not very cheap, but some of the best you can get.

I have the TK45, very cool. Will still light up like the TK41 but rather than a point beam will illuminate a wider path. Look at the ground between the TK41 & TK45 pics. One is brighter - your path is more illuminated. The other a thrower - spot beam - is brighter at the center. Either will work. I think more people are happier with a thrower. Remember good rechargeable batteries & charger.

Have you looked at Pelican? I have several of their xenon ones and a head-lamp that is a combo zenon/LED. They are waterproof and are approved for an explosive atmosphere. Maybe I should try a normal LED one.
 
I get along just fine with the free LED lite Harbor Freight gave away for a few months. Got about 30 of them, took the batteries out incase they leaked before I needed them.

Price was sure right!

And guess what, they light up what I point them at!
 
Got 30 free LED lites from Harbor Freight ? You must go there everyday/week for it !

I got 4 LED 3-AAA battery lites free after rebate from Pep Boys few years ago. It does light up where I point it at, nothing beats free stuff.
 
I bought the Fenix LD15 single AA light and am very happy with it. Does better than my 2AA mini mag lights and will last up to 35 hours they say on the low power setting. Low power setting is enough to walk with. Small enought to carry in my pocket. No push button though.
 
Fenix makes a great light. Their L1P will always have a special place in my heart. When it first came out, it was the first 1xAA high power LED light available.

I carry either an L2T V2 or an L2D CE at work, and a P3D Q5 and P1D Q5 everywhere else.
