I just noticed that my lease payment on my Prologue went up by approximately $5/month last month.

Does anyone know why this happened? I am considering calling Honda finance customer service but before I do that, if this is a normal thing, I don't want to waste my time. This is my first lease, so I'm in unfamiliar territory. I initially got the car last year.

I have never paid late so it's not a late fee or penalty of any kind.

The stealer is more likely than not $### testing you to see if you'll bend over which if you do they'll keep doing it more and more. Go back to that stealer and tell them to knock it off. Post the terms on here without any personal info if you'd like. It's not illegal to do that and they might have slipped something in if this is your first lease and didn't know.

Do you think so? I got the car in October and the payment was the same until March and that's when it went up a few bucks. I don't think the dealer has any control over it at this point and it's all Honda finance services. If I look at the paperwork I got from the dealer it shows the agreed upon payment amount that is what I was paying until the last one.

Read your agreement and see if there's any weasel words in there for increases, and even if there is, just talk to Honda finance with your agreement in hand, and go back to the simple terms summary. I imagine they can undo the increase even if they can legally add it?

Does CA charge personal property tax on leased vehicles? Texas does, and the tax rate changes yearly. In states that charge property tax, the lessee is responsible for paying the tax (you). Other taxes that may come into play on leased vehicles can include sales and/or use taxes.

Would not a phone call to Honda answer your question? Seems to me a very simple thought process.

That’s exactly what I was thinking

Thank you all, I realized what it was... local tax rate went up. Base price stayed the same but the base lease price is taxed and the total is the lease payment.
Wait until you get the annual registration... I just paid over $800 for the new Model 3... Ouch! What's a poor boy to do?

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to that. But CA has nice weather and my family is here so what choice do I have?
