Both of my Hondas are leaking coolant only when the defrost is on. I noticed it today when I had them warming up. This morning I only had the defrost on, usaullay I have both the heater/defrost selection and never noticed any kind of leak. Any Ideas?

I tried running the heater only and the vent only and no leaks. I checked under both and saw no visible leak and the inside is dry. Coolant levels on both Hondas is between Min and Max, which is where they are supposed to be per Helms manuals on both.

Are you absolutely sure it's coolant? It sounds like the coolant level is where it needs to be.

On domestic cars, turning on the defrost also cycles the A/C to dehumidify the air. You then get condensate which drains to the outside. With most imports, I think there's a separate switch or button for turning on the A/C--if that's the case with your Hondas, it's a mystery to me...

Thanks -
There is a button for A/C but I do not turn on the AC for deforst. I always turn it off, cause it sucks too much power.

You can bet your A/C turns on automatically whenewer you choose the defrost mode. You don't have to press A/C button for it and the light never comes on. Read your user's manual, there's a detailed section on that. You can actually open the hood and hear yourself how A/C turns on when someone else switches into defrost mode inside the car.
What's "leaking" is the condensate. So don't worry about that.
If you want to get rid of this stupid "A/C on with defrost" feature, join Honda forums and find out what do you have to disconnect in your ashtray area.

yeah I belong to Honda Tech. But this fluid was green the same colour as my coolant.

I hope you are right. I didnt see any leaks what so ever.
