LC20 dosage questions

1. On the LubeControl page it states:

But on the LC20 bottle itself it states:

So, which one is correct?


2. Assuming the latter is correct, if my engine takes 7 quarts of oil, that would mean I would have to dump in 14 oz. of LC initially. That is almost half a quart. So, should I actually put in 6,5 quarts of oil instead of 7 to leave room for LC?

3. The 2 oz. per quart initial dosage - does it refer only to the first ever usage of the product or do I add 14 oz. of LC every time I change oil?

Dunno...but good reasons just to use 3 oz. of ARX for the whole OCI.

I've pretty much always added two ounces/quart along with fresh oil, then one to two oz. per 1000 miles. Yes, leave room for the LC- I also have a vehicle with a six-quart sump (Chevy 454), seven quarts total with filter. Next time I change the oil I will use 6.5 quarts of oil and 0.5 quarts (one pint) of LC.

IMO the ratios are not overly critical but one does not want to go crazy and use LC 50-50...!

Crashbox - Are you seeing any benefits in your UOA with LC.

QP -gotta dig some up if you're interested, but I do have UOA with LC/GC in my M54 engine. Same ratio as Crashbox suggested. 2oz per qt and every 1K, I vary from 2-3 oz,

Currently experimenting with the RLI 5W40 straight.

Quattro Pete if you did new Auto-Rx application why do you need LC 20 ?

I think the instructions on LubeControl's website are too weak for maintenance cleaning. I use 2oz/quart initially and then 2oz per 1,000 miles. IIRC John Browning follows a similar dosage.

I did ARX treatment about 10k miles ago, 2 oil changes ago. My latest UOA showed relatively high TAN, so the purpose of use of LC would be to reduce the acidity. I also had a trace of coolant in my sample. Not sure if LC would help reduce wear in such circumstances...

Lc20 made my Amsoil 100% better, based on used oil analysis and tell everyone to use it!

I've never used LC20 ...and I hear that it's a great anti-oxidant (

) ...but it's a real departure for me to do so many intermediate adds to the oil. I don't even check my wife's oil 18 times in 18k miles.

Not to impugn any benefits of the product ..but I'm more of a "set it and forget it" type guy.

Just checked the Taurus. Earlier in the year, I spied a decent amount of varnish on the inside walls and top part of the engine. (Granted this is through the oil filler hole....I didn't remove the valve covers).

10 months later, the varnish is completely gone. I used the "Turbo" dosage I listed above throughout the year.

I've saved my filters from this year but have yet to open them. I still need to pick up a pipe cutter from China Freight. I'm curious to see how much stuff is in the filters.

I used it in Amsoil ASL and it, well, made the wears decrease by >50%. I would never not use it.
