LC/AutoRX compatibility

Any news about the purported testing of use of LC and AutoRX TOGETHER?

Previously did an AutoRX cleaning, and have been using LC for some time now. But....small rear main seal leak returned. Have over 100k miles, so I thought I'd do a second AutoRX treatment. But...my GC has some LC in it.

Should I dump the entire 4 quarts and start fresh with conventional oil, or just dump the AutoRX into the GC and run it for an extended time before changing? Sure hate to dump the GC and LC if I don't have to. Would be SO much easier to just replace the filter and add the AutoRX.

IIRC, frank said to use dino only, if seal conditioning was the goal.

With the seal leak, it is best to use the dino with Auto-Rx only. That way you have nothing to compete or default the Auto-Rx treatment.

LC is a all petroleum based product and I have successfully tested the use of both products in healthy test engines that I was using Auto-RX in.

I see no problems with reapplying the Auto-RX to correct the seal issue.

The high powered solvency of LC wears out in about 1000 miles in a gasoline engine so if you do not top up the LC the Auto-RX will not have any problems doing its thing on the seal even if there were competing chemistry issues from that perspective which I don't believe there are.

My testing is unfunded and ongoing thus the lack of formal results data being posted.

I last added LC about 1300 miles ago, so it looks like I'll be safe just changing the filter and adding the AutoRX, correct? Oil is GC with about 4k miles on it. Should be OK to add the AutoRX to this and just run about 1500-2000 miles?

For a seal leak GC is Full Synthetic. As stated above dino is the best choice:

Vetteman is correct, For seal issues Frank Miller is adament about using a oil that is petroleum based and has fewer esters to compete with the cleaning esters of Auto-RX.

Sorry , I read too quickly and missed the fact that GC was in use.
