LC and oil consumption

I'm doing my first LC car. 1996 NA Volvo 850 at 82K miles. Amsoil 10W-40. I'm at about 5K miles on this OCI. Full dose of LC to start then the 1K adds. I can't say too much yet, but...:

1) Oil darkened fairly quickly. Could be clean-up. Doesn't bug me too much.

2) Oil consumption is high, between the LC doses and oil adds I've dumped in 1.5 qts in 5000 miles. Bugs me, because the car is not a normal oil consumer...

I don't plan on doing a filter change, but how much longer should I continue this routine before sampling and dumping??

I noticed that my initial LC dose caused the oil to darken quickly. This seems to lessen with each oil change. Maybe the solvent in LC evaporates and causes the oil level to drop.

Or maybe it is cleaning seals and such, and giving the oil an escape route.

No leakage. I know when oil gets dirty, or is cleaning, it will be consummed a bit faster.

It's the cleaning of the engine causing oil consumption. Once engine is thoroughly cleaned out...consumption will be back to normal...as I have noticed the same...
