LBZ Duramax

Just picked up my first Duramax, an 07 LBZ cab and chassis with 248k, for a great price. Only issues are a bad turbo and bad sending unit for the auxiliary fuel tank. I plan on doing a good aftermarket turbo, EGR delete, EFI Live tuning, fass pump and 4 inch exhaust, Ill daily it for a while and eventually get a 2500.

I recall Dnewton saying Dmaxes are easy on oil and not particular. Any oil and filter you recommend?

From what I've read on here - from Newton and others - dmax will perform with any licensed oil. I would choose one from Walmart, based on price and jug color.

Congratulations! Not many would be after this combo so you probably got it for a deal (standard cab, 248k). 15w-40 HDEO of your choice basically.

Once I fix it up right, itll be for sale. For the type of work I do, it requires an E-log and Id rather not deal with it as itll eat into my productivity. But itll be fixed up right before I sell it. Ill keep you posted.
