Lawn Mower Wheel Shims

I've traveled the length of the internet looking for very thin washers to shim up the wheels on mowers. After working through my collection from 30 years of other mowers, I use thicker (1/16 inch car body) washers, then slowly file down the wheels until they fit tight without wobble. I know they have to be available somewhere. Any ideas or sources come to mind? Not looking to spend a dollar apiece for them either. THANKS!

You could find some thin plastic and cut your own. If you are that ambitious

I what you mean yeehaw1960! I've done the same things for "retrofits", or in other cases, the plastic wheel hubs were already worn back to the point fender washers did the trick to snug them up.

McMaster-Carr it is! Interesting place to browse. It looks like they have everything....I mean everything. The "close enough" spacers I ordered arrived the next day (100 for 11 bucks plus 6 dollars shipping. Very pleasant experience.

I wish I would have thought to look at "any hardware store". It never occurred to me to look for washers at a hardware store...maybe the local Dairy Queen or the library.
