I just received the scan tool a couple of days ago, here are my thoughts. On Caravan it won't reset oil life without light on or Immo. It does alot of other things. On a 12 Equinox the AC is intermittent and scanner was able to read evap temp, move doors, operate compressor, fan, pressures etc. Replacement key is not supported. Showed p0420 information and drv. Door open circuit information. Overall it works to get job done.
Compared to Autel 808bt it's faster to get into vehicle however way to many steps and downloads. Seems to store all software in the clouds as it always tells which software it is using and if updated. I have to log on each time anyhow it's saved. Autel 808bt is a paper weight since I tried to compare functions today and I got message there's an important update that needs to be downloaded before you can use it. I got a message to log in cause I haven't logged in for 30 days or tool wouldn't work. They want 165.00 after tax to renew.

My Otofix appears to have airplane mode and I've always wondered if that would disconnect it from the mother ship so you can just use it as a standalone tool as it should be. Probably not that simple.

Nope. I had mine unhooked from internet and since I haven't logged in they put up a notification that I needed to log in. After I hit log in Then it must have automatically connected to the internet and stated I needed to update firmware. I read that firmware was free even if you weren't subscribed. Not so. Now I can't do anything but pay or throw 500 in the trash.

Launch and Autel sends all data back to base just in case tool doesn't work. That's there warning. I think this is all about security of products to keep someone from using scanner to steal cars.

I have a XTool D7 and just download my last 3 year free firmware update 2 week ago. All my cars I own now have not had an upgraded for those cars in about 1 year so I am good for now and into the future. If I replace the wife’s 2014 RAV4 it will be a 2022ish Rav 4 that has a good selection for that year updated already. I would not buy a tablet unless it had a 3 year free firmware update upgrade like XTool has. Unless I was a pro mechanic.
