5w-30 M1 got my mom's LS1 Trans Am to nearly 170k miles, and it's still running.

But, it is pretty noisy. I don't know if it's GM's fault or M1's fault.

Pennzoil Platinum.

x2 or continue what you've been doing.

Anything with that many miles should be taken care of. Putting cheap oil in it now is like parking your parents at the funeral home when their old.

I still think GC is one of the best oils ever made, especially the green formula. I've still got a bunch of green left over, I'm running it in my mom's VW Golf (doing 2 year OCIs) and my father's Volvo XC70.

I'll be changing my mom's oil in mid June, it'll be two years old and have roughly 7000 miles on it. As always, I'll post the UOA here.

Will be interesting to see the results

I've been successfully using the old green GC to keep a "sludge issued" Toyota V6 clean and running for the past 40k miles.
How long will that "stashed" M03 and M04 stay good?

5 years is the official number given by more than one oil company but like medicines with expiration dates, I'm sure it's good much longer than that. If it would make you feel better, pour the oil into a clear container to check for clarity, sediment, separation, yada, yada, prior to pouring it in your engine.

This from a guy with $9/qt oil in a Honda.

I also plan on running this oil 12k miles or more. You left that part out.

Aren't you the guy running Redline in an Echo?
