I went to fill the car up early on the long weekend. Nobody there but me in the BP station.I swiped my credit card it was accepted and clicked off at about the right amount. The woman comes running out of the office to tell me I have to pay inside. I asked why she said the power flashed off. I told her to restart and it only took a buck and stopped. I will let you know if my debit card was charged too. It sounds strange that would happen with nobody around.

If you pay your bills online, you don't have to wait for your next statement to see what the charge was. You can view the current charges as they reach your debit card company.

Always take a receipt. I never use a debit card for gas. Instead use a credit card. Better laws on your side that way.

That point-of-sale stuff should run on UPSes and battery backups. I'm also suspicious.
